Founded 2003
Steps For Steph was founded in the fall of 2003 by family and friends
of Stephanie Tillotson who died by suicide during her junior year of high
school. So others may not have to endure this devastating loss and pain,
we are committed to preventing teen suicide and promoting teen mental
health through:
- education and awareness
- improved access to qualified mental health professionals
- rapid and accurate diagnosis of mental health illness
- seamless coordination of mental health care
Please help us make a difference!
Fact: In a typical classroom of 30 high school students, 2 will attempt
suicide and 4-5 will seriously consider suicide. Steps For Steph is a
timely and welcomed community-based effort to help address this increasing
social need.
